Requests for Funding

There are two ways to request and receive funds from the Avondale PTA to support school activities:

Budgeted Expenses

During the first PTA meeting of the school  year, the PTA adopts a proposed budget prepared by the Treasure and supported by the PTA Board.  Some school activities and programs are given a “line item” in the budget.  If funding request is in the adopted school year budget, the requestor must do the following:

  1. Complete the funding request form. Refer to the adopted budget to get the budget #.
  2. Receive a purchase authorization form from the treasurer. DO NOT PURCHASE UNTIL YOU HAVE THIS AUTHORIZATION. Budget allocation does not mean automatic approval.  We have to make sure that we have adequate funds on hand to cover the request.
  3. Complete the check request form.   We DO NOT disperse cash or use debit or credit cards for PTA expenses.  All transactions are done by check only.  You have the option of purchasing the items and being reimbursed by the PTA.

PTA Grants

Each year the PTA sets aside a designated dollar amount to be used as grants.  The use of these funds are voted upon by the Executive Board of the PTA.  To request these funds, requestors must do the following:

  1. Complete the funding request form. Type in “yes” for PTA grants.
  2. The request will be reviewed at the next Executive Board meeting.  If approved and the funds are available you will receive a purchase authorization form from the treasurer. DO NOT PURCHASE UNTIL YOU HAVE THIS AUTHORIZATION.
  3. Complete the check request form.   We DO NOT disperse cash or use debit or credit cards for PTA expenses.  All transactions are done by check only.  You have the option of purchasing the items and being reimbursed by the PTA.
